Who would like to bring Peter Thiel, Paypal founder, to Udacity?

Peter Theil is teaching a course at Standford titled "Computer Science 183: Startup." Given how he likes to rip on traditional colleges, wouldn't he prefer to do something a little more in line with the 21st century and his own expressed views? How about teaching tens of thousands (instead of mere hundreds at an exclusive institution) through a platform like Udacity?

Peter, I hear Dr. Thrun has a little pill you just might like...

That would be great ! We can dream :)

Maybe the courses will be recorded an put online by Stanford, without being part of Udacity.

With all due respect, what does Peter Thiel have to offer us regarding Computer Science and Engineering?

Granted, the man is an absolute GENIUS when it comes to business, startups, even Libertarian theory. I think that, down the road, it would be very good for Udacity to offer courses on marketing, business, startups, angel investors, etc., etc. But for NOW? I want SERIOUS, HARDCORE computer science like we are getting (and appear to be getting) in the near future.

For ME, personally, I'd MUCH prefer a guest lecture from Ray Kurzweil or Eliezer Yudkowski than Peter Thiel...but that's just me.

@Cnudde took the words right out of my mouth. :) Not that we don't already have a fantastic group of teachers.

I'm willing to try and glean knowledge from anybody that's willing to teach. I don't discriminate.

Oh, I don't want to give the impression that I'm discriminating, nor would I EVER pass up the chance to take a free class from Peter Thiel, given the time.

I'm simply saying that since Udacity has limited resources (everyone does) that it's MY wish that we concentrate on the hardcore computer science/engineering/math side of things, first. Yes, of COURSE, I'd like to take a comparative religion class from Udacity, to be honest with you! Or how about a course in philosophy by Slavoj Žižek? FANTASTIC...but not now. Not until all those awesome courses in that scroll list at the bottom of the Udacity home page are in their second or third iteration.

That's where I'm coming from. Certainly not from a place of LESS learning...sorry to give that impression at all.

No the apology is on my side here. I didn't read that you were in any way discriminating. The tone was lost there on my comment. It's all good. Not to mention my answer was directed at the posted question and not at your answer :)
