I'm having trouble with Unit 1 - should I continue?

Here is some background on me,
Graduated with a B.S in Computer Science last December but I'm trying to self teach myself more programming; such as Objective-C right now. I just got a job as a System Administrator so I'm trying to learn more on that end.

I'm all about learning more, and I love the CS101 class so far, because its building a search engine which is something I haven't done. I've wanted to do more things in the future with Robotics, but I'm not sure if its my Math background (very light), but I'm just struggling to understand the concepts in Unit 1 - on the programming questions.

Should I continue this course?

I appreciate all the input.
I'll stick it through.

Having major trouble getting started on the homework programming project but I'll take a closer look at it tomorrow.

The homework is due tomorrow (unless they delay it) so don't delay. Your worst homework score gets dropped though. Hang in there!

Before you consider giving up I'd encourage you to watch the Khan Academy videos on the math topics you are struggling with, they're very good and he makes you believe that you can learn anything with some work.

After that, I'd say go for it if you are struggling but making progress, but if your struggles leave you feeling hopeless then just focus on 101.

You can also watch relevant AI-class videos with subtitles, if you struggle with probabilities, or take a look at free Python books and tutorials

Stay. Even if you fail you'll be better off than if you quit, and it costs nothing.

I gave up on AI-Class but I regret it and I now feel with little persistence I could have made it through.

From a glance at the syllabus, I don't think the course is going to get significantly more difficult. It won't, however, get any easier, either. I think the decision really comes down to whether or not your are having fun with the course. I'd give it at least another week to see if you can have fun with it; if it is still overly difficult and just a chore, you may want to consider giving the course another try when you have more time (sounds like you are learning a lot in other areas!)

I was in the same boat my friend but I watched Khan Academy and just jumped into it and Done with the home work. Rest these three should help you 1.Forums 2.Class Notes 3.Don't give up. I made it through. And the more you ask the better you will understand. The only thing I would suggest is to start watching videos early as it took me a while to catch up on few concepts.

Don't be afraid to put effort in and learn this stuff. It's not impossible, but you have to expect it to take some sweat.
